you've brought this image to life. She really could be standing on a length, overlooking a desolate wasteland.
Perhaps keeping watch, waiting for some enemies to rush her post.
(My very irreverent wife said the girl had just fired a "deforestation gun", and was now saying, "Oops..." But I think what I had in mind was more what you were thinking.
I think, if that was the case with the "deforestation" theory, there would be more debris
littering the landscape of the ripped up trees... and the holes they were torn out of.
